YOU DON'T MAKE IT TO 50 YEARS ALONE

PICKLE BARREL 50TH

01

THE BUSINESS SITUATION

Fifty years is a remarkable milestone, but anniversary campaigns often become self-congratulatory. They celebrate longevity without reminding people why the brand mattered in the first place. For Pickle Barrel, the opportunity wasn't simply to celebrate fifty years in business; it was to celebrate fifty years of shared memories, relationships and community. The challenge was creating an anniversary that felt less like a celebration of the brand and more like a heartfelt thank you to the guests, team members, suppliers, partners and communities who had made those fifty years possible.

02

FIND WHAT'S TRUE

The memories people cherish aren't about restaurants; they're about the moments that happened inside them. For fifty years, Pickle Barrel has been the backdrop for first dates, family dinners, birthday celebrations, late-night conversations and everyday traditions. The brand didn't create those memories; people did. The anniversary wasn't about celebrating Pickle Barrel's success. It was about celebrating the generations of people who made Pickle Barrel part of their lives.

03

IMAGINE WHAT COULD BE

What if an anniversary wasn't about looking back, but about giving back? Instead of creating a campaign that celebrated the brand, we imagined a year-long celebration that honoured everyone who helped build it. We revisited each decade through the lens of the people who lived it, bringing back the flavours, styles, music and memories that defined every era. The campaign invited guests to relive their own stories while creating new ones, turning a corporate milestone into a shared celebration across communities.

04

MAKE IT REAL

We developed a fully integrated anniversary platform that unfolded throughout the year, with each decade becoming its own creative chapter. Limited-time menus, nostalgic restaurant experiences, retro-inspired merchandise, social campaigns, digital storytelling and in-store activations brought each era back to life. A special collection of commemorative T-shirts raised funds for SickKids, extending the celebration beyond the restaurant and into the community. Every touchpoint reinforced a simple idea: Pickle Barrel didn't reach fifty years on its own; it got there because generations of people chose to make it part of their lives.

LEAD COMMERCIAL

A THANK YOU 50 YEARS IN THE MAKING.

The campaign began with a simple message of gratitude. This launch film celebrates the people who have made Pickle Barrel part of their lives, from the guests who returned year after year to the team members, suppliers and partners who helped shape the brand. It set the tone for a year-long celebration built not around the restaurant, but around the communities that made fifty years possible.

The Bigger Truth

THE STRONGEST BRANDS KNOW THAT THEY DON'T WRITE THEIR OWNS STORIES. THE PEOPLE THEY SERVE DO.

We are here if you have questions about budgets for projects we have done, if you want an opinion, if you want to see more work, if you want a credentials deck, or if you want to join our team. Maybe you want to have coffee and talk about how we work, how you work, or how the industry works.
